2021, STATE AND NATIONAL AWARDS

In the year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Twenty-One, the Council of Saint George, organized by the Knights of Columbus, and under the protection of Our Lady of Columbia, was graced to receive the following honors.

COUNCIL OF THE YEAR

Awarded to the council that reaches their membership and insurance goals and whose annual activities went above and beyond other councils in the state.

Awarded to the council with the best community support activity in the state.

KNIGHT OF THE YEAR - JIM BURKHARDT

The Idaho State Council presents the Knight of the Year Award annually at the State Convention, to a Brother Knight who best exemplifies the basic principles of the Knights of Columbus, as demonstrated by service during the past year.

Awarded to the council with the best methods of communicating with their members, their parish and their community.

KNIGHTS PRIEST OF THE YEAR - CHAPLAIN FATHER TIM RITCHEY

The Idaho State Council presents the Knight of the Year Award annually at the State Convention, to the priest or bishop in the state that best exemplifies the qualities of Fr. Juan Perez and Fr. Michael J. McGivney.

DOUBLE STAR COUNCIL AWARD

Presented to the council that exceeds their annual new member recruitment goal by 200% and completes the requirements of the Father McGivney Award, the Founder's Award and the Columbia Award.

Presented to the council that meets or exceeds their assigned recruitment goal of recruiting new members.

COLUMBIA AWARD

This award recognizes excellence in a council’s programming and charitable outreach. To earn this award a council must conduct and report programs in each of the four program categories (Faith, Family, Community, and Life) for a total of 16 program credits, with four in each category.
